A Chuseok Life Drawing, 2016

On the third day of Chuseok, Jankura Artspace held a special Chuseok themed life drawing session. Instead of having a ton of food on stage, our model wore the dress part of a hanbok.

This time I had misplaced my black pen, so I used only blue and red ball point pen with white, blue and green colored pencils for highlights, hair and clothes.

Have a happy Chuseok and keep arting!

Nine Tailed Fox Drawing Session!

What does one do on the 9th day of the 9th month of the year? Draw nine-tailed foxes of course!

While cats have nine lives, foxes, if they survive, gain tails. Once they’re a thousand years old, they’ll have-nine tails. Also they want to become human. For some reason. And to do that, they need to eat a hundred human livers. Or hearts. It depends on who’s telling the story.

Of course creatures that live that long learn a thing or two about transformation.

Sometimes though, we just gotta draw others drawing.

Keep arting my friends!

Sunday Portrait Session

Time for a three hour session!

I decided to start with my current standard of ball point pen, water color pencil and brush pen:

I also decided to try some actual water color:

I used a water color brush pen. No dipping for water, just squeeze! So far I’m loving it!

Keep arting my friends!

Saturday Life Drawing, August 27

I wasn’t able to make Friday’s drawing session this week, so I went Saturday instead. Started off with some quick ball point pen sketches:

As the poses went longer, I decided to do some comic framing to put them all together. I decided to add some song lyrics when I posted them to Instagram.

“All the things she said, running through my head. This is not enough.”

“Life, it seems, will fade away
Drifting further every day
Getting lost within myself
Nothing matters, no one else.”

“Life is but a dream.”

Both the Friday and Saturday life drawing session at Jankura this week was a Man Ray themed night. I took the surrealism into comic paneling. Until next time, keep arting my friends!
